How we pick and review games

No sponsored rankings, no paid placements. Here is exactly what goes into a GoWithHello guide.

A small team testing games on several phones

1. Choosing what to cover

We start from what people actually search for and ask about: games that work offline, games for a five-minute break, games for adults who want more than a puzzle with a timer. Reader suggestions go straight onto our list.

2. Research before we recommend

For every game in a guide we check the current store listing on Google Play and the App Store, recent update history, the size of the download, the price model, and what recent player reviews say about ads, bugs and paywalls. If a game has not been updated in a long time or has a pattern of complaints we cannot ignore, it does not make the list.

3. Playing it ourselves

Full reviews are written only after we have played the game on a real phone. We note how long it takes to start, how often ads appear, what the in-app store pushes, whether it works in airplane mode, and how warm the phone gets after a longer session. Screenshots in our reviews are our own.

4. The quick facts on every pick

  • Offline: plays without internet, fully or with some limits.
  • Needs internet: online-only or multiplayer games.
  • Free: free to download; we say if there are ads or in-app purchases.
  • Paid: one-time purchase or subscription service.
  • Platforms: Android, iPhone, and PC where available.

5. Keeping guides current

Mobile games change fast. Prices move, ads get heavier, games get shut down. Every guide shows the date it was last checked, and we revisit our main guides regularly. Spot something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.

6. Money and independence

GoWithHello does not accept payment for rankings or reviews. If we ever add ads or affiliate links, we will label them clearly and they will not change what we recommend. If we write about a game made by people connected to us, we say so on that page.
